We are pleased to officially announce the results of the 2023 Foothill Wine Festival Competition, sponsored by Choose Folsom.  The competition was held in Folsom on September 9th and 10th, 2023. 

The Foothill Wine Festival was designed to showcase and promote wines from grapes grown in all Sierra Foothill appellations.  The goal of the Competition and November 11th Public Event is to raise visibility for consumers and trade alike. The best outcome is foot traffic to your winery. 

Our panel of experienced all-star judges assessed just under 400 entries this year.  The Judges awarded 5 Best of Show awards, along with 29 Best of Region wines, these are the top competitors each category of wines entered with a Gold and above.  The Judges also awarded 36 Double Golds, 103 Gold, 168 Silver, and 54 Bronze medals. These are record numbers and we give you all the credit. 

The award for Best White Wine went to 2022 Casino Mine Ranch, Flicka, and the Best Red Wine went to Jeff Runquist, 2021 Charbono, and for the Best Rose went to Rosa Luca’s 2022 Sweet Ayla Rose, Best Sparkling Wine went to Gwinllan Estate Winery for 2019 Sparkling Rose, and to finish Best Dessert Wine, Jeff Runquist Port Wine, 2021 Sissney.
